Introduction

A simple material, Clay. Even though I have worked with it for the majority of my adult life its many facets still intrigue. From geology and the yielding of hidden doorways to the past, to science and the effect of fire and heat, clay holds a magic.

It has inextricably woven a thread throughout my life, sometimes with prominence, sometimes humming in the background, yet always persisting. The challenge of ceramics and an incessant thirst to expand my knowledge of this complex discipline is relentless. It is my identity and grounding.

Exploring my Indian heritage and the delicate interconnections of human frailty, along with a continuous fascination and reflection on the human condition is the cornerstone of my practice.
